As sad as it can be to try to persevere today I think the level of outrage felt by those of us who have not sold out our loyalty cannot be sustained much longer.

What I feel most of all today is a burnout of hope, my spirit betrays me, I am sad, lonely and tired.   As if that weren’t bad enough, I am sorry for myself.   In light of lives lost, how selfish is my concern over my own discomfort?   Betrayal is all around, even within me.

Where is the soaring American eagle, emblem of our nation, today?  It is nowhere around that I can see.  Which leads me to ask, where then, as a once proud country are we?

This country I once called home struggles through its last dying breath.

I still recall a summer day, warm and sunny, when I stood beneath a flag made up of stars and stripes,  a huge flag waving in the clearest bluest sky.  I remember the power in the sound it made as it rippled in the wind.    Such a glorious sight and sound it was that sent chills throughout my body.   That memory today brings tears to my eyes because I realize its gone.  It flies now only in dreams I have sometimes when I close my eyes at night.   That flag, MY FLAG, is no more.

Muslim Children Treated Like Animals

The 8-years-old girl whose story you’ll read in coming lines did not make it to the 2nd night of her wedding nor did she make it to her 9th or 10th birthday.

Her name unknown, my source telephoned me last week at 9:30 pm to tell me her story. At the first I thought it’s just going to be a short conversation but later it was unveiled that the story is different.

The story came from a village in Khashrood district of Nimruz province in Afghanistan.

A medical doctor assigned in the main hospital in Zaranj city, the capital of the province, who wished to remain unnamed confirmed that he was “made aware” of the incident and that it was “too late to do anything for her” as well the “remote area didn’t allow them to do anything”.

The girl was one of the several daughters of a man in his late 30s. For an unknown reason he gave his daughter to the Mullah of their village for a big amount of money. It is also common in Afghanistan’s rural areas or 3rd level provinces/cities to marry young girls to old men, and trading their daughters for their debts or other items.

The mullah is in his late 50s and is the mosque guy of the village where this incident happened.

The mullah is already married and has many children too.

The two families hold a tribal meeting, agree on the price that the groom’s family pay to the bride’s family, and they set a date for wedding.

In rural areas like this here there are no engagements or any ceremonies beforehand like there are some in the metropolitan and urban areas.

The two families planned a wedding party, the wedding and Nekah (The religious process in which a woman is officially married to a man) took place and the 8-years-old bride became the 50-years-old Mullah’s 2nd wife.

The celebration party was over and the sun downed – the time to have sex (not make love) with the 8-years-old bride.

The girl was just 8 years old and everybody understands the fact that she knows nothing about sex or wedding or making love or virginity or sexual related topics; not even at a basic level for two reasons, one being that she’s just a child – not even a teenager and that in that part of the country, nobody knows anything about these things nor they are given trainings or education about a healthy sexual life.

The mullah takes off the bride’s clothes as well as his owns and with apparent so much happiness approaches her for sexual intercourse with the 8-years-old bride.

Because of the Mullah’s huge physique which gave him a big penis, he threw himself on her and started to penetrate the girl’s vagina.

After several tries that led him to failure to penetrate her vagina, the Mullah was frustrated.

He failed because the 8-years-old girl who was about to die was physically thin and had a very tight vagina opening.

Sourced from the Mullah’s animal behavior, he took out the sharp knife that he always carried with himself in his pocket and tore apart the girl’s vagina from the clitoris side upwards as well as tore it downwards towards her anus in order to make the vagina larger enough so he can enter his penis into her vagina.

Naturally, she started to bleed in a very bad amount, but the mullah was too annoyed for not being able to have sex with her, to care for what he did or her bleeding or her wounds that he gave her.

The girl had her scarf stuffed in her mouth, crying and trying to not raise her voice because others were there in the room adjacent to or outside.

It is a rule in some of the areas in Afghanistan that the groom brings out a piece of cloth that he cleaned his wife’s hymen blood with it as a proof that the girl was virgin.

Mullah entered his penis into the girl’s severely bleeding vagina and had sexual intercourse with her on a blood-covered bed, and then got up and cleaned himself with a cloth.

The girl, who now has lost everything, was bleeding and there was nobody to help her neither could the Mullah ask for help as it was a shame for him and the girl’s family (who were sitting over a cup of tea in the other room, would kill him).

Our 8-years-old bride bled and went into a traumatic shock because of both forced sex as well as severe bleeding. She had lost so much blood, this I can tell for certain.

She bled and bled as herself was in trauma shock until morning and early in the morning around 5 when the sun was about to rise, she passed away.

According to the Mullah, she was pale and her eyes were open when she died. The bed, as he described, was all red with her blood and she was lying in her blood only. No cloth beneath her was recognizable and everything was in dried blood because a whole night had passed on the blood.

She was pale because she had lost all her body’s blood. Her eyes were open as she was shivering when she died and her hands were tied in a praying position, saying her death time prayer.

The Mullah called in the same person and asked him to clean up the mess around and prepare a reason to tell the others for her death. Because the man was a close friend or family of the mullah, he did whatever he could, including every piece of cloth that was bloody.

They wrapped her in a piece of white clothes and called the others that she has passed away.

That morning her family mourned her death in the saddest manner without looking for proper explanation about her death, and then took her to wash her body as a religious ritual.

Because the Mullah had a great influence on the village, none of the women who washed the girl’s body dared to ask or seek the reason for the wounds around her vagina.

By 10 am or so they rallied the now-dead 8-years-old bride to the graveyard and buried her.

Her life ended.

The close friend of mullah, who knew everything, was very upset and shared the story with my source that then called me and told me the story.

Another doctor that I asked in Zaranj said that he wasn’t aware of the case, but he remembers that he used to treat the now-dead bride when she was 4 or 5 years old.

This doctor also asked me to not name him anywhere but only said that he was “deeply saddened that incidents like that still happen in Afghanistan”.

He called it one of the reasons of Afghanistan no going forward: People’s idiocy and uncivilized behaviors and traditions.

This story reached to me was told the exact way as it happened by the Mullah to a very close friend of him after the girl’s dead body was buried. According to the Mullah, he had a “bad conscience” about it.

The IRS Is Obama’s GESTAPO

President Obama’s second-term campaign slogan was “Forward,” but instead we’ve got cover-ups, congressional investigations and the government persecution of political opponents and reporters.

That sounds like “backward” to me. All the way to, say, 1972.

Who would have guessed that just a few months into his second term, President Obama would be compared to Tricky Dick. And by a liberal Massachusetts Democrat — U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano.

Republicans could not even have scripted this one. The agency most hated by voters, the Internal Revenue Service, admits to going on a Nixonian witch hunt against Tea Party and conservative groups during the re-election campaign.

This is a story even the most partisan Massachusetts liberal cannot defend. It’s so bad that even Ed Markey is calling for heads to roll.

Now we learn that the Justice Department has secretly obtained the phone records of Associated Press reporters and editors in what appears to be an investigation of an AP story that disclosed details of a CIA operation that stopped a terrorist attack.

Going after the Tea Party is one thing, but the media? What an outrage. Who knows, the press may get so mad they won’t laugh at Obama’s jokes during the next White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

This does not bode well for Obama’s second-term agenda. He already had lost a vote over gun control, and the Benghazi hearings didn’t go so well, either.

The focus for the next few months will be on the investigation and likely cover-up of the IRS effort to get dirt on Obama’s political opponents. The initial explanation — that it was the handiwork of just a few rogue IRS workers — sounds about as plausible as blaming the Benghazi attacks on an anti-Muslim video.

Voters should demand to know who was responsible for the IRS witch hunt. If anyone in the White House or Obama campaign was aware of it, then the Richard Nixon and Watergate comparisons will be eerily accurate. It was Nixon, after all, who invented the “enemies list,” and it looks as if someone in the Obama administration’s IRS came up with one.

The disclosures might even trigger a resurgence for the Tea Party movement, which suffered some setbacks in the last election. U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), one of the Tea Party candidates who won, could get a boost all the way to the GOP presidential nomination.

So enjoy the next few months, President Obama. It’s not time yet to get Marine One revved up on the White House lawn, but if you start talking to portraits of dead presidents, then it’s time to get worried.

Obama and Biden Have Blood On There Hands

The grieving parents of a Navy SEAL killed in Afghanistan say major blunders by the U.S. military and the White House led to his death — and described how his body and the bodies of other soldiers were “desecrated” in an Islamic ceremony at an American base.

“As our son’s body lay there [with the other soldiers], their first amendment rights and freedom of religion were violated,” an emotional Bill Vaughn told “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.

Vaughn’s disturbing claim came in the midst of a Congressional probe of an alleged cover-up in the facts surrounding the deadly attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya last Sept. 11th.

The couple are pressing for their own Congressional investigations into the downing of the chopper — why it happened and what mistakes were made.

Aaron Carson Vaughn, an elite Navy SEAL died on Aug. 6, 2011 when a helicopter carrying 30 American troops was blasted out of the sky.

Since then Vaughn and his wife Karen said they have discovered many disturbing facts about the circumstances of their son’s death.

“The fact is that Afghans are in from the top to bottom on all of the special ops missions. They know everything that’s going on,” Vaughn said.

“After the chopper was shot down, here again, because of the rules of engagement, the men who fired . . . were not taken down.”

When the bodies of their son and his fellow soldiers were recovered, things got worse.

“At the ceremony at Bagram Air Force Base, the military allowed an imam to desecrate their bodies with an Islamic prayer that he helped pray their souls into hell and infidels and, in the end, said that the Muslims are the winners.,” Vaughn said.

“So we found these things out and we, as families, have been working on this for a year and a half now and we want answers. We want somebody to tell us what really happened and then what could be done to prevent it for other families.”

Vaugn added that he had no problem with imams themselves, only that they were allowed to officiate over the soldiers.

“We know what imams do. What I have a problem with is, as [the] bodies lay there, their first amendment rights and freedom of religion were violated, not by the imam, by the American government,” he said.

The Vaughns said the mission that led to their son’s death was not only botched, but that the NAVY seals had been targeted.

“In the mission planning that night, we had found out that a high-level Taliban leader had been located. We sent the Rangers in that night to capture him,” Karen Vaughn said.

“The decision was made to send in the quick reactionary force to capture him at 2:30 in the morning. The problem with that is the quick reactionary force should not take place unless somebody is in serious trouble.”

Bill Vaughn said he believes the White House has a policy of “relentless pursuit of the enemy” which leads to serious missteps in military operations.

“We begin to operate more carelessly, without taking as much regard for the lives of the warriors,” he said.

“That night when they went in, we’ve seen testimony from men who were there that night and many of those men still ask we don’t know why the mission was necessary. We don’t know what the urgency was.”

Karen Vaughn told Steve Malzberg she believes the U.S. disclosure that the Navy SEALS carried out the raid resulting in the death of Osama bin Laden put a target on the backs of the SEALS.

“I will tell you that within 24 hours of Joe Biden announcing that it was Navy SEALs that took out bin Laden, Aaron called me and his voice was very full of fear,” she said.

“And he said, ‘Mom, listen to me, you have to wash your social media clean right now. Wipe everything off of it.’ He said, ‘There’s chatter and all of our lives are in danger including yours, mom.’

“They absolutely put a target on their backs. 93 days later they were all dead . . . The actions that took place that night are so completely unacceptable and they cost our sons their lives and it cost the families a life, now, of utter unspeakable pain.”

IN SEAL Team VI Killed In AFGHANISTAN By Obama

Three families of Navy SEAL Team VI special forces servicemen, along with one family of an Army National Guardsman, will appear at a press conference on May 9, 2013, to disclose never before revealed information about how and why their sons along with 26 others died in a fatal helicopter crash in Afghanistan on August 6, 2011, just a few months after the successful raid on the compound of Osama Bin Laden that resulted in the master terrorist’s death.

Accompanying the families of these dead Navy SEAL Team VI special operations servicemen will be retired military experts verifying their accounts of how and why the government is as much responsible for the deaths of their sons as is the Taliban.

The areas of inquiry at the press conference will include but not be limited to:

1. How President Obama and Vice President Biden, having disclosed on May 4, 2011, that Navy Seal Team VI carried out the successful raid on Bin Laden’s compound resulting in the master terrorist’s death, put a retaliatory target on the backs of the fallen heroes.
2. How and why high-level military officials sent these Navy SEAL Team VI heroes into battle without special operations aviation and proper air support.
3. How and why middle-level military brass carries out too many ill-prepared missions to boost their standing with top-level military brass and the Commander-in-Chief in order that they can be promoted.
4. How the military restricts special operations servicemen and others from engaging in timely return fire when fired upon by the Taliban and other terrorist groups and interests, thus jeopardizing the servicemen’s lives.
5. How and why the denial of requested pre-assault fire may have contributed to the shoot down of the Navy SEAL Team VI helicopter and the death of these special operations servicemen.
6. How Afghani forces accompanying the Navy SEAL Team VI servicemen on the helicopter were not properly vetted and how they possibly disclosed classified information to the Taliban about the mission, resulting in the shoot down of the helicopter.
7. How military brass, while prohibiting any mention of a Judeo-Christian God, invited a Muslim cleric to the funeral for the fallen Navy SEAL Team VI heroes who disparaged in Arabic the memory of these servicemen by damning them as infidels to Allah. A video of the Muslim cleric’s “prayer” will be shown with a certified translation.

“This press conference takes on special significance given that our government has over the last twelve years since September 11th committed brave American servicemen to wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that, in large part as a result of politics, were poorly conceived of and implemented, resulting in the deaths of thousands and the maiming of tens of thousands of our brave heroes. To make matters even worse, America has effectively lost these wars,” stated Larry Klayman, legal counsel for the families.

Obama Is A Estupido Payaso

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz welcomed President Obama to Texas Thursday, where Obama is scheduled to begin his “Middle Class Jobs and Opportunity Tour,” by highlighting Texas’ job record in comparison with the administration’s.

“America is stuck with high unemployment and low GDP growth, so it’s encouraging to see the President coming to Austin to talk about jobs — perhaps he will learn how to create some from the folks who know how,” Cruz said in a statement.

“Texas is leading the nation in economic growth and job creation because of principled, conservative leaders who understand the keys to economic success are lower, flatter taxes, limited government and restrained spending,” he added. “Texas has shown the country how it’s done, and we hope the President will take some of these lessons back to Washington to bring true economic recovery to our nation.”

This is Obama’s second visit to Texas in two weeks, Bloomberg reported. The Dallas Morning News speculated Thursday that part of the visit is to make Cruz the face of Republican obstruction.

“What Obama wants to do is come into Texas and say, look at how great everything is and to take credit for something that really isn’t his. And without saying it, he’s saying you’ve got this Sen. Ted Cruz who wants to be the fly in the ointment. Tell him to fall in line,” The Morning News quoted Bob Vander Plaats, president of the The Family Leader.

Cruz further highlighted the fact that his state “continues to outperform the nation in terms of economic growth and job creation,” noting Texas’ 6.4 percent unemployment rate in comparison to the national 7.6 percent average and the fact that eight of the 15 fastest-growing cities from 2010 to 2011 are in Texas.

“[A]s states with high spending and high taxes are losing jobs, Texas is gaining them. In fact, between 2006 and 2012, Texas gained one million jobs, while California lost 359,000 jobs,” Cruz said. “Additionally, Texas continues to receive national accolades for its robust business climate, most recently in a report released this week by Chief Executive Magazine, naming Texas the best state for business for the ninth consecutive year.”

The Ugly Face Of Abortion

Through a combination of circumstances, Delaware has just become, at least temporarily, the first state since Roe v. Wade to be abortion-free.

Planned Parenthood of Delaware has suspended all surgical abortions, according to LifeNews, due to new state investigations after five 911 calls were placed on behalf of women experiencing abortion-related emergencies at the Dover clinic.

Two former employees have described unsafe conditions at the clinic, and Operation Rescue learned that one employee had a history of falsifying medical records in New York before coming to work in Delaware.

The only  other clinic in the state, in Wilmington, has also been closed for cleaning and re-staffing.

Two other clinics that had operated in the state under Atlantic Women’s Medical Services shut their doors in 2011 when it was revealed they were connected to Dr. Kermit Gosnell, the abortionist currently on trial for the murders of a patient and of babies born alive during abortion procedures.

An investigation by Operation Rescue shined the light on practices at the Dover clinic, which is being accused of unsanitary conditions, overmedicating patients, not sterilizing medical equipment and employees failing to wash hands between surgeries.

The Gosnell trial has revealed literal horrors at his clinic, but as more is learned about the practices at other clinics around the country, the more it appears that Planned Parenthood has accepted low medical standards as the norm.

For too long, the abortion industry has operated with the protection and patronage of government. It’s about time that government did its job and shined a light on a dark business.

I Will Never Come Clean About Benghazi

The deputy of slain U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens has told congressional investigators that a team of Special Forces prepared to fly from Tripoli to Benghazi during the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks was forbidden from doing so by U.S. Special Operations Command South Africa.

The account from Gregory Hicks is in stark contrast to assertions from the Obama administration, which insisted that nobody was ever told to stand down and that all available resources were utilized. Hicks gave private testimony to congressional investigators last month in advance of his upcoming appearance at a congressional hearing Wednesday.

According to excerpts released Monday, Hicks told investigators that SOCAFRICA commander Lt. Col. Gibson and his team were on their way to board a C-130 from Tripoli for Benghazi prior to an attack on a second U.S. compound “when [Col. Gibson] got a phone call from SOCAFRICA which said, ‘you can’t go now, you don’t have the authority to go now.’ And so they missed the flight … They were told not to board the flight, so they missed it.”

No assistance arrived from the U.S. military outside of Libya during the hours that Americans were under attack or trapped inside compounds by hostile forces armed with rocket-propelled grenades, mortars and AK-47 rifles.

Hicks told congressional investigators that if the U.S. had quickly sent a military aircraft over Benghazi, it might have saved American lives. The U.S. Souda Bay Naval Base is an hour’s flight from Libya.

“I believe if we had been able to scramble a fighter or aircraft or two over Benghazi as quickly as possible after the attack commenced, I believe there would not have been a mortar attack on the annex in the morning because I believe the Libyans would have split. They would have been scared to death that we would have gotten a laser on them and killed them,” Hicks testified. Two Americans died in the morning mortar attack.

Obama administration officials have insisted that no military resources could have made it in time. A White House official told CBS News that, at the start of the attack, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Martin Dempsey and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta “looked at available options, and the ones we exercised had our military forces arrive in less than 24 hours, well ahead of timelines laid out in established policies.”

Hicks is expected to be the first ground-level eyewitness to speak publicly in the nearly eight months since the terrorist attacks that killed Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans. When Stevens went missing, Hicks became the Chief of Mission for the U.S. in Libya.

Ambassador Susan Rice and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton initially indicated the attacks were not planned acts of terror, but an outgrowth of a spontaneous protest over an anti-Islamic YouTube video. Unidentified government officials removed references to terrorism and al Qaeda from so-called “talking points” released to the public shortly after the attacks.

Q: But do you think, you know, if an F-15, if the military had allowed a jet to go fly over, that it might have prevented [the second attack]?

A: Yeah, and if we had gotten clearance from the Libyan military for an American plane to fly over Libyan airspace. The Libyans that I talked to and the Libyans and other Americans who were involved in the war have told me also that Libyan revolutionaries were very cognizant of the impact that American and NATO airpower had with respect to their victory. They are under no illusions that American and NATO airpower won that war for them. And so, in my personal opinion, a fast-mover flying over Benghazi at some point, you know, as soon as possible might very well have prevented some of the bad things that happened that night.

Q : The theory being, the folks on the ground that are doing these — committing these terrorist attacks look up, see a heavy duty airplane above, and decide to hightail it?

A: I believe that if — I believe if we had been able to scramble a fighter or aircraft or two over Benghazi as quickly as possible after the attack commenced, I believe there would not have been a mortar attack on the annex in the morning because I believe the Libyans would have split. They would have been scared to death that we would have gotten a laser on them and killed them.

Q: I just wanted to ask, you mentioned permission from the Libyans. Why is that important? What did you mean by that?

A: Well, it’s their country. And for an American military aircraft to fly over their country, we have to have permission from them to do so.

Q: So what would have been the risk of — do you think it would have been risky for us to send someone, do you think it would have been counterproductive for us to send a fighter pilot plane over Benghazi without that permission?

A: We would have certainly wanted to obtain that permission. I believe we would have gotten it if we had asked. I believe that the Libyans were hoping that we were going to come bail them out of this mess. And, you know, they were as surprised as we were that American — the military forces that did arrive only arrived on the evening of September 12. Yeah.

Q: So, at this point [at approximately 10:00 pm in Tripoli], you are talking to Washington, you are talking to your RSO Martinec, you are talking to RAO. Are you talking to the Defense Attache?

A: The Defense Attache is there, and he is immediately on the phone to Ministry of Defense and to chief of staff of the Libyan Armed Forces. He also notifies Joint Staff and AFRICOM. Our SOCAFRICA lead, Lieutenant Colonel Gibson, connects with SOCAFRICA in Stuttgart, as well. And, obviously, RAO is also connected back home.

Q: Was there ever any thought at that time of the night to have an F-16, you know, fly over?

A: I called — when we knew that — I talked with the Defense Attache, Lt. Col. Keith Phillips, and I asked him, “Is there anything coming?” And he said that the nearest fighter planes were Aviano, that he had been told that it would take two to three hours to get them airborne, but that there were no tanker assets near enough to support a flight from Aviano.

A: And for the second time that night [Before 5:15 AM attack], I asked the Defense Attache, is there anything coming, is there anything out there to help our people from, you know, big military? And the answer, again, was the same as before.

Q: And what was that answer?

A: The answer was, it’s too far away, there are no tankers, there is nothing, there is nothing that could respond.

Q: So you had mentioned that the first team from Tripoli to Benghazi arrived at 1:15?

A: Right.

Q: And was there a second team that was organized? Could you tell us about the second team?

A: Right. The second team — the Defense Attache worked assiduously all night long to try to get the Libyan military to respond in some way. Early in the morning — sorry, after we were formally notified by the Prime Minister, who called me, that Chris had passed, the Libyan military agreed to fly their C-130 to Benghazi and carry additional personnel to Benghazi as reinforcements. Because we at that time — at that time, the third attack, the mortar attack at 5:15, had not yet occurred, if I remember correctly.

Q: So what time did the second rescue team ??

A: Well, again, they flew — I think that flight took off sometime between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m.

Q: At that point, you are the Chief of Mission?

A: Yeah, I’m Chief of Mission effective 3:00 a.m.

Q: Now, did any of the Special Forces folks, were they planning at any time to travel on that second aircraft?

A: On the second, on the C-130? Yes. We fully intended for those guys to go, because we had already essentially stripped ourselves of our security presence, or our security capability to the bare minimum …

A: So Lieutenant Colonel Gibson, who is the SOCAFRICA commander, his team, you know, they were on their way to the vehicles to go to the airport to get on the C-130 when he got a phone call from SOCAFRICA which said, you can’t go now, you don’t have authority to go now. And so they missed the flight. And, of course, this meant that one of the …

Q : They didn’t miss the flight. They were told not to board the flight.

A: They were told not to board the flight, so they missed it. So, anyway, and yeah. I still remember Colonel Gibson, he said, “I have never been so embarrassed in my life that a State Department officer has bigger balls than somebody in the military.” A nice compliment.

Q: Now, at this point, are you having communications with Washington?

A: I was in communications with Washington all night long. I was reporting all night long what was happening to Washington by telephone.

Q: When these Special Forces folks were told essentially to stand down, what was your next move? Did you have a recourse? Were you able to call Washington? Were you able to call anyone at this point to get that decision reversed?

A: No, because the flight was — the flight was leaving. And, you know, if they missed — you know, if the vehicles didn’t leave when they leave, they would miss the flight time at the airport. Give Up The Damn Guns Now

President Obama vowed on Friday he will “continue to do everything in my power” to pass gun control legislation, saying that it’s “the right thing to do.”

Delivering a speech in Mexico City at the National Anthropology Museum, Obama said he swore an oath to uphold the Second Amendment, and “I always will.”

But he said passing legislation to prevent criminals from obtaining guns will “save lives” in both the United and Mexico.

Last month, the Senate rejected a measure that would have expanded background checks for gun purchases. After the legislation was defeated, and standing before family members who lost loved ones in the Newtown, Conn., school shooting, Obama said he would continue to fight to pass the legislation.

In recent days, Vice President Biden has continued that effort, meeting with law enforcement officials and others to discuss the issue. Next week, a senior administration official said Biden will meet with faith leaders to discuss gun control.

The senior administration official said Friday that Biden “will continue to meet with groups who are active in the gun debate and has said repeatedly and publicly that we aren’t going to give up.”

“As the president said yesterday, ‘This is just the first round,’” the official said.

Obama Is Praying That You Would Believe His Lie

President Obama on Friday addressed some major concerns in Mexico: The flow of guns and drugs across the U.S.-Mexican border.

“In the United States, we recognize our responsibilities. We understand that much of the root cause of violence that’s been happening here in Mexico for which so many Mexicans have suffered is the demand for illegal drugs in the United States, he said during a speech at the National Anthropology Museum in Mexico City.  “And so we’ve got to continue to make progress on that front.”

Obama said he is firmly against legalizing drugs and instead supports a comprehensive approach to combating demand that includes education, treatment and prevention as well as law enforcement.

“And we also recognize that most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States,” he said. “I think many of you know that in America, our Constitution guarantees our individual right to bear arms, and as president, I swore an oath to uphold that right and I always will.

“But at the same time, as I’ve said in the United States, I will continue to do everything in my power to [pass] common-sense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people, that can save lives here in Mexico and back home in the United States. It’s the right thing to do.”

The president’s remarks come as Vice President Biden prepares a renewed push on gun control after the defeat last month of the administration’s first attempt to stiffen restrictions following the December shooting massacre in Newtown, Conn. The timing appears to be coincidental, though — POLITICO’s Reid Epstein reports on the home page that Biden hasn’t told the president about his plans.
